Team Fiber Twist — Keep the Fleece
Fiber Twist celebrates the International year of Natural Fibers
The United Nations General Assembly declared 2009 the International Year of Natural Fibers to raise global awareness about natural fibers and to help ensure their long-term sustainability for farmers produce them.
To support this initiative, Fiber Twist is joining teams from around the world for “Keep the Fleece,” a global effort to collaboratively create the world’s largest scarf and at the same time raise money for the Heifer International Organization to build the world’s largest fiber flock.
Team Fiber Twist will take donations for each row that is knit, crochet, woven or felted and make the scarf based on those donations. We will assemble the pieces of our team’s scarf at the Fiber Twist Our scarf will then go on to the New York Sheep and Wool Festival to we joined with other scarf sections from around the world.
